About 2M Studios

We've spent our careers building technology that helps small businesses run better. Now we're bringing it to accounting.

01

Who we are

Matt Beal and Matt Liptak spent close to a decade working side by side at Storable, the clear leader in self-storage technology and trusted by about 60% of the industry. They joined when it was a roughly $300M company and helped build it into a business worth more than $4B. Both held senior leadership roles, led teams, and owned the P&L for the products they ran.

Beal led growth, client-experience, and product-management teams. His most recent and favorite role was Storable Easy, the company's entry point for smaller operators, a business doing roughly $20M in ARR that put him in direct contact with more than 12,000 small-business owners. What he took from it was that small businesses rarely have the resources to bring in every kind of expertise they need, and that the most rewarding work was giving them something that delivered a real result.

Liptak led operations, data, and account-management teams across several of Storable's business lines. His standout work was the Marketplace business, a customer-acquisition product that helped small, independent operators hold their own against the big national players, and which he helped grow from roughly $20M to about $90M in revenue. What he took from those years is that a business runs best when the team inside it is set up to succeed, and that the most rewarding work was helping them serve their customers better.

Storable was really several businesses at once: property management software, a marketing storefront, tenant insurance, payment processing, a marketplace, and access control. Our job was to move between them, learn how each one made money, and make it perform. We got good at stepping into an unfamiliar business, understanding it quickly, and improving it.

What stayed constant across all of it was the work we cared about most: helping small-business owners run better, more profitable companies. Accounting firms do that same work for their own clients every day, which is a big part of why we're here.

What we're working on

We're based in Austin, where we've both lived for close to twenty years. We're putting our experience to work in accounting in two ways.

Helping firms put AI to work.

We work with accounting firms to find where AI will save their teams the most time, then build it into real work, one workflow at a time. Your team keeps reviewing everything before it reaches a client, and gets hours back for the work that needs them. See how it works

Owning and running a firm of our own.

We're also looking to buy an accounting firm and run it ourselves, with both of us in it every day. If you've started thinking about what's next for your firm, we'd like to talk, even if now isn't the right time. Selling your firm
